Peter Untersperger proposed to become new chairman of the management board, Fritz Weninger to become new member of the board.

The supervisory board of Lenzing AG today announced that they will propose Peter Untersperger as their new chairman as of 1 January 2009 to the company's management board. Peter Untersperger currently is head of finance and will succeed Thomas Fahnemann, who is to join RHI AG.
Friedrich Weninger is to become the new member of the management board at the same time. He currently is head of business unit Textile Fibers, the company's biggest business sector.
The new management board of Lenzing AG will therefore consist of Peter Untersperger (chairman), Christian Reisinger and Friedrich Weninger.
The chairman of Lenzing AG's supervisory board, Hermann Bell is pleased with the fact that a successor has been found so fast. "Lenzing AG is fortunate to have a large number of excellent top managers. Therefore Thomas Fahnemann's position could quickly be filled with somebody from inside the company. This solution, moreover, underlines continuity in the company's top management. We are convinced that the new management team of Lenzing AG will continue to lead the company to further success and future growth“.

At today’s Supervisory Board meeting of Lenzing AG Mr Peter Untersperger was appointed Chairman of the Board as per 1 January 2009. Mr Friedrich Weninger was appointed Member of the Board for a period of three years.
