BioGaTBIOGAT is particularly suitable for the significant reduction of H2S and CS2 (low concentration) in waste gas for the following industries:
Features
In DetailThe BIOGAT process significantly reduces carbon disulfide and hydrogen sulfide in waste gases of viscose production processes. H2S and CS2 are converted to diluted sulfuric acid, carbon dioxide and biomass. The decomposition of CS2 and H2S is catalyzed by microorganisms immobilized in carrier layers (saddle packing). The gas passes through four column treatment layers. Each treatment layer reduces H2S and CS2 concentrations by a certain amount, achieving the desired cleaning efficiency at the end of the process. The biomass requires moisturizing by water spray application in order to maintain proper operating conditions and to wash out the accumulating sulfuric acid. Acid concentration is kept at the required level by dosing water into the system, based on conductivity parameters. The biomass acts as a catalyst and is not involved in any of the chemical reactions. CS2 + H2O ↔ COS + H2S COS + H2O ↔ CO2 + H2S H2S + 2 O2 ↔ H2SO4
The microorganisms require adequate nutrition to keep the biomass operational. Nutritional elements are dosed in small quantities, according to actual demand. The packed layers require annual cleaning due to biomass buildup. The BIOGAT process is particularly suited to cleaning exhaust gases with low concentrations from the production of viscose, plant protection agents and similar products. Reference plants: CASE TECH in WALSRODE, GERMANY BAODING, CHINA FABELTA, BELGIUM six columns processing 150.000 m3/h H2S up to 260 mg/m3 CS2 up to 800 mg/m3
