LENZING CanFil

AutoLine

Robust backwash filtration with automatic cleaning.

To separate impurities, this system uses wedge wire or fabric filter cartridges, through which the medium flows from the inside to the outside, trapping particles on their surface.

Advantages

Filter fineness down to 50 μm
High throughput up to 10,000 m³/h
Efficient cleaning by reverse flow

Inquire now

The filter candles made from wedge wire or mesh are flowed through from the inside to the outside, retaining the particles on their surface.

Once a predetermined degree of contamination has been reached (indicated by increasing differential pressure), the flow direction in one of the filter candles is reversed. In larger filters, this even occurs in two or three candles.

A small amount of the filtered medium flushes the particles out of the candles. Filtration continues during this process. The candles are moved into the backwash position one after the other by a rotating backwash arm.

FAQs and contact

LENZING CanFil is highly tolerant of coarse contaminants. As a general rule, anything that can enter the cross-section of the filter cartridge can also be flushed out of the filter.

The most commonly used cross-sections range from 30 mm for the smallest sizes to 70 mm for the largest, which means that pre-filtration is not normally necessary.

Nevertheless, for some applications, e.g., in river water, the use of a screen or rake is recommended, as very large and unfavorably shaped solids, such as pieces of driftwood, can block the candle inlet or the reject channel, and the filter may then have to be opened.

Backwashing soft particles is always a particular challenge.

This makes it all the more important to choose an automatic filter with backwashing by reversing the flow direction at a significantly increased flow velocity.

This allows acceptable service intervals to be achieved even under difficult conditions, such as surface water with high organic content.

We strive to keep filter components up to size CanFil-500 in stock at all times. Only the filter candles are manufactured to order. Delivery times are therefore normally a few weeks (approx. 8 weeks).

Larger filters and material designs that differ from stainless steel 316 (1.4571/1.4404) take longer, but can also be delivered relatively quickly thanks to in-house production of the essential components.
