Self-cleaning automatic filter for high solids content.

Filtration takes place through the filter element from the outside to the inside, with the solids accumulating on the outside.

The system is also suitable for liquids with high viscosity and for high solids concentrations in the inlet.

The LENZING ScrapFil system filters from the outside to the inside of the filter element. This separates the solids from the surface.

The gear motor rotates the cylindrical filter element during the cleaning process so that the scraper attached to the filter element can remove the solids from the surface.

The solids are continuously thickened in the feed chamber and settle in the lower part of the filter housing. By opening the valve on the lower cone, the solids are discharged to the outside using the system pressure inside the housing.

The wedge wire filter element is easy to clean and has a long service life. The most important features of the filter element are:

High mechanical stability
High chemical and physical resistance (made of stainless steel)
The V-profiles of the wedge wire filter element have the required filter fineness on the outer diameter.

The exact limit depends on several factors, such as particle size distribution or the shape and hardness of the particles.

Due to continuous thickening in the feed chamber, the ScrapeFil can ideally process very high solids concentrations in the feed (up to 2% is possible).

LENZING ScrapeFil is particularly suitable for high viscosities. In principle, the limit is determined by the flowability of the product.

Due to its special cleaning mechanism (scraping and thickening in the feed chamber), ScrapeFil is not suitable for filtering soft gel particles. In this case, we recommend either the LENZING OptiFil or—for very high viscosities—the LENZING ViscoFil, if necessary with a metal fiber fleece for depth filtration and backwashing to remove the solids from the filter material.

The LENZIGN ScrapeFil is primarily used for the filtration of hard/solid particles.
