LENZING StrainFil

AutoLine

Fully automatic strainer for high system pressures without moving parts.

With the fully automatic strainer from the LENZING StrainFil series, filtration takes place from the inside to the outside through one or more longitudinal wedge wire elements.

Its simple design and wide range of material combinations make StrainFil the ideal system for protecting sensitive plant components such as nozzles, heat exchangers, etc.

Thanks to the absence of moving seals to the outside and its slim design, StrainFil can be cost-effectively used also at very high system pressures.

Advantages

Filter fineness from 200 μm to 3 mm
No moving parts therefore no wear and tear
Suitable for high system pressures

Inquire now

Filtration in the LENZING StrainFil system takes place from the inside out using wedge wire filter elements with longitudinal slots.

Due to the increased flow velocity inside the elements, particles are continuously transported into the integrated dirt chamber.

Once a preset differential pressure is reached, or after a timer has expired, an automatic valve at the backwash outlet opens, creating an even higher overflow velocity on the filter surface inside the filter element. At the same time, the Bernoulli effect causes the pressure in the filter element to drop below the pressure on the clean side (outside the filter element).

These two effects ensure that the filter element is cleaned efficiently.

The particles are flushed out of the filter via the backwash outlet.

The V-shaped longitudinal slot ensures efficient flushing of particles along the filter surface and good backwashing efficiency.

The robust design of the element enables a very long service life.

The use of high-quality stainless steel also allows for corrosive media to be filtered.

Application examples

The LENZING StrainFil fully automatic filter system is perfect for retrofit installation. The areas of application for this wear-free system include:

  • Filtration of river or lake water

  • Filtration to protect spray nozzles and heat exchangers

  • Filtration in geothermal energy, district heating, and other liquids at elevated system pressure or temperatures above vapor pressure

  • Filtration of coarse particles

  • Pre-filtration for our patented automatic backwash filter system LENZING OptiFil

FAQs and contact

Get personalized advice and contact us. The following FAQs will give you an initial insight into LENZING StrainFil expertise.

The LENZING StrainFil has a very high flow characteristic and can therefore be designed to be extremely slim. This means that even at high pressures, the wall thicknesses required are low, resulting in cost-effective construction of the pressure vessel.

No, the LENZING StrainFil has no moving parts and therefore does not require bearings, moving seals, etc.

Only static seals are necessary (flat seals and/or O-rings). These are not subject to wear and tear, but may become brittle over many years of use.

Stainless steel 316 (1.4404) or 1.4539 or Super Duplex are used as filter elements.

Containers can be manufactured in any desired configuration (carbon steel, stainless steel, special alloys, and fiber-reinforced plastic).
