LENZING CakeFil can handle solid concentrations of up to 10% in the feed. In other words, it can handle significantly higher concentrations than would be required in fiber or screen water filtration applications.

First, LENZING OptiFil minimizes reject volumes thanks to its efficient and patented backwash filtration system. Second, these small volumes can often be recirculated within the process or treated using a LENZING CakeFil system or similar technology.

This depends on the application. For example, while 10 µm stainless steel mesh is used for the filtration of raw acid due to its chemical resistance, plastic mesh offers better backwashability, and thus a longer service life, for the polishing filtration of fiber water or screen water.
