Filtration of thick juice in a sugar mill
Filtration of thick juice
After extracting sugar from beet pulp, a sugar factory purifies the resulting thin juice by adding lime to remove impurities and then thermally concentrates it into what is known as thick juice.
Before crystallization, the thick juice must be filtered to remove non-sugar substances and burnt sugar crystals, thereby ensuring the best possible quality of the final product.
Fully automated filtration of thick juice throughout the entire sugar campaign.

Advantages of using a LENZING filtration system
Cost & space savings
Thanks to the low maintenance requirements, operating costs can be significantly reduced. The compact design also takes up very little space.
Filter fineness
The use of high-precision stainless steel mesh or filter aid-assisted precoat filtration enables fine filtration and provides perfect protection for downstream equipment while ensuring the best possible final product quality.
Reliability
These proven and efficient backwash filter systems operate reliably and fully automatically throughout the entire campaign.
